On Call Plus® and On Call EZ® do not require maintenance beyond what is standard for any small appliance. You will have to periodically change the battery and make sure that the outside of both the meter and the lancing device is generally clean and dry before and between uses (you can do this with a damp cloth and mild detergent). A troubleshooting guide is included in the user's manual.
